The Mānoa Community Gardens is part of the Honolulu Community Gardens. Adjacent to the Mānoa Valley District Park and Mānoa Elementary School and the Mānoa Gardens Elderly Housing and the house where the music teacher lives, the māla o Mānoa are home to many individual garden plots (pā māla). These small enclosures of three-foot deep dirt beds atop concrete slabs are connected by bricked walkways upon which travel the many gardeners that till these various soils.
