CLOSING OUT THE ACCESSIONING PROCESS

Are you done accessioning this acquisition?1) In MAVIS client, close accession status in acquisition record.

Log into MAVIS

  • Open Explorer (Click on blue 'e')
  • Click on pat01 link
  • Continue
  • Log in to VPN (UH username)
  • Minimize Explorer windows
  • Double Click on MAVIS icon
  • Log into MAVIS
  • change keyboard to Maori

Open Acquisitions module

  • Single click on Acquisitions

Find acquisition record

  • Ctrl-F or Acquisitions→Find or click binoculars
  • find the acquisition record that you want to close accessioning for

Open the acquisition record

  • double click to open record
  • go to Accession Tab

Enter metadata

  • Accession Status: C: Completed
  • Date Completed: should automatically fill, but if not, do so manually
  • Accessioning Notes: if any
  • save record
  • close record

1)
Perhaps you have finished accessioning an acquisition to the box level. The individual items have not been fully accessioned, so you will not change the accession status. However, you would do well to note the completion of the boxaloging process in the Accessioning Notes field. For example: “This acquisition has been accessioned and cataloged to the box level. Accessioning of individual items is in process.”
