After a tape has been physically inspected at the Physical Inspection Station, an xml record should exist on the SAMMAPREP-PC laptop computer. These xml files should be copied onto a MAVIS Client station on a regular weekly basis and uploaded into MAVIS.

Retrieve xml files

• Open IMPORT-EXPORT folder → Open Prep XML folder
• Open the file manager and click on Network
• Double click on SAMMAPREP-PC
• Go to Users → Public → PrepXML
• Move all test files into tests folder.
• Copy all other prep.xml files into the IMPORT-EXPORT\Prep XML folder
• Move all prep.xml files into the moved to Jacobs computer folder
• Open pending curatorial selection folder on SAMMAPREP-PC
• Copy all prep.xml files into the IMPORT-EXPORT\Prep XML folder
• Move all prep.xml files into the moved to Jacobs computer folder
• Close SAMMAPREP-PC file manager window

Import xml files

• Open MAVIS Client
• Click Admin → Import from XML file…
• XML File/Path : Click File…
• Go to Prep XML
• Select all prep.xml files; open
• Input format: Choose SammaPrep
• Stylesheet should be populated as C:\mavis\stylesheets_Current\import_sammaPrep.xsl
• Run Import (or check Submit in background? and Run Import)
• Should be no errors. Click okay and close export window.
• Check that records imported okay.
• Move xml files into importedToMavis folder
