This is an old revision of the document!
How does one use this wiki? How does this wiki relate to me, the ʻUluʻulu Staff member?
Ah, good questions. Let me tell you a bit about this here wiki.
The ʻUluʻulu Guidebook exists in a namespace called guidebook. That is, all individual guidebook pages are proceeded by guidebook:. For example, this page (look up) is guidebook:wiki. Once within the namespace, however, you can simply link to the page. So for our intents and purposes, the name of this page is simply “wiki”. A namespace is like a folder. There should be a Sitemap button on the bottom of your page. Try click. That shows the organization of the namespaces. Also, you can make use of the breadcrumbs (look up again). These can get you back to different places in the hierarchy.
Will the ʻUluʻulu hierarchy make use of greater namespace organization? I can foresee the namespace guidebook:policies:, or guidebook:workflows:. So for example, the mission statement page might be guidebook:policies:mission.
Pages are the building block of the wiki. We don't want any orphans though, so it is best to create pages by linking to them from another page. Pages with multiple words will be separated by underscores. Such as new_acquisitions_workflow.
Very important. But how do you link? Put your words in double brackets. Like this [[link]]. Also, if you want to control the link text, separate the link from the text with a straight line: [[link|Link Text]].
Sections are created with the use of headlines. There are 5 different levels of headings.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by the ʻUluʻulu Wiki Guide. Now you are an expert in all things wiki. Congratulations!
